I've just wrapped up the Light Of Xaryxis in one of my home games. While the adventure was great there were some areas that were lacking. I came across this work by Daniel Kahn and Charlie Branson and loved the idea of it. Infiltrating a secret asteroid base that had been abandoned after the creatures inside broke out, complete with flickering lights, broken control panels and big scary bad monster at the end? Amazing. I incorporated it into my campaign with ease and the players absolutely loved it.
I even 3D printed out a giant Megapede to use as the final enemy for them to battle:
The halfling monk/rogue Pip Proudfoot squares up against the deadly Megapede.
The party tries to steal the valuable Megapede eggs from the creatures back while avoiding its deadly attacks.
